Howdy,

I use tEXt chunks in png files to store metadata.
When PIL saves a png file it discards this information.

I would like it if Phatch would preserve this data, like this

def put_tEXt(filename, data):
import Image
from PngImagePlugin import PngInfo

im = Image.open(filename)
info = PngInfo()
for key in data.keys():
info.add_text(key=key, value=data[key])
im.save(filename, pnginfo=info)
return im

I thought I could write an action which preserves tEXt, but first
glance seems to indicate Phatch won't allow me to proceed unless
the provided 'Save' action is included.

Can I configure Phatch to allow me to save a .phatch which doesn't
include the standard 'Save' action?

Hi Kent,
Right now this is not possible. File a wishlist bug for a preference which doesn't require you to add a save action.

Not sure what 'wishlist bug' is, seemed like it could go either in bugs or blueprints.

I filed as bug, described it as a wishlist item.
