Here's a pre-release of our build. Open the DMG, and run Phatch. You can run it from the DMG, or copy to your disk. It's complete and has no external dependancies.

http://clanmills.com/files/Phatch-20100415-rmills.dmg

I had no problem installing on Mac OS X Leopard (10.5), the macport way :

sudo port install py26-pil py26-wxpython

If you didn't install it previously, it will fetch, build and install python2.6, among other dependencies.

Then launch Phatch from its directory :

python2.6 phatch/phatch.py

PS Phatch is a nice piece of software, my best regards to the devs.

Thank you zigraphix for offering to be a beta tester as well. Would you send me your email address to notify you when the app is ready? Phatch is compatible with python 2.4, 2.5 and 2.6. It is also compatible with wxpython 2.8 and 2.6.

I'd like to be a beta tester for you too, if possible. I'm on OSX 10.5 (Leopard).

I'd settle for a macports configuration… then at least it would check dependencies during install. I think I have three different versions of python on my system now, because wxpython wanted one, PIL wanted one, and I updated other packages on my system at about the same time and that got a different version, too (2.6). When I use macports to install PIL, it seems to want python 2.4. I installed 2.5 with wxpython, but that was because I wasn't sure which version of wxpython to install (I could choose 2.5, 2.6, or 2.8).

Hi!

I found Phatch by googling, and I thought this was a very interesting tool - exactly what I was looking for… unfortunately I did not manage to install it on my iMac running on Snow Leopard 10.6.2.

I must admit I am very new to Phyton, and with the few instructions I found on the web site (1- install Phyton 2- install wxPython 3- install PIL and finally do pythonw phatch.py) it only generated lots of errors in a terminal window… After trying for a couple of hours, I gave up…

Any who can give me advice on how to get it installed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Claude
